Meet Kim

Personal Profile

My journey into the world of nutrition began in 2002, following a life-awakening car accident. This experience ignited my passion for health, leading me to explore alternative medicine, including chiropractic care, massage therapy, and the use of nutritional and botanical supplements. It was during this exploration that I discovered the transformative power of nutrition.

My curiosity quickly evolved into a fulfilling career path. I was fortunate to work at Metagenics for two years, where I learned from some of the leading experts in nutrition and functional medicine. This experience solidified my commitment to this field and inspired me to formalize my education. I earned a Master's Degree and pursued training at the Institute for Functional Medicine, realizing that my thirst for knowledge was far from quenched. I eventually embarked on a doctoral degree, further deepening my expertise.

Throughout my career, I have been presented with incredible opportunities, including

  • Owning and operating a private clinical practice that provides one-on-one and group nutrition counseling services.

  • Working with the American Nutrition Association and the Board for the Certification of Nutrition Specialists on various projects, training programs, and nutrition credentialing.

  • Serving as an adjunct faculty member for multiple nutrition programs over the years.

  • Becoming a pre-approved CNS Supervisor for the Supervised Practice Experience (SPE), which allows me to mentor aspiring nutritionists.

  • Serving as Division Director at Sonoran University for about 2 years, where I helped develop and launch the Master's of Clinical Nutrition program.

  • Writing, presenting, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver evidence-based content, courses, blogs, and publications.

Each step has enriched my understanding of nutrition and its pivotal role in health and wellbeing.
